"The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry."
~ Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms

"Our lives disconnect and reconnect, we move on, and later we may touch one another, again bounce away. This is the felt shape of a human life, neither simply linear nor wholly disjunctive nor endlessly bifurcating, but rather this bouncey sequence of bumping into's and tumblings apart."
~ Salman Rushdie, The Ground Beneath Her Feet

The Matrix and Some Thoughts...

To see the connections, to make the connections. to create the connections...to perceive reality, to know the Matrix...

A friend told me recently to not be decieved or swayed by what is perceived on the surface, beauty beheld and yet not true, only the heart, "...the organ of fire..." as Michael Ondantje described it, is the dispenser of beauty and truth. Who we are in our essence.

Just as Neo is distracted by the woman in the red dress, we all are. We all have our "women in red dresses" - albeit they appear differently for all of us. We each know what they are - our demons, our giants, our fears, our doubts, our shame, our pain, our secrets...what comes to us before we fall asleep at night, what wakes us in a cold sweat, what we can't forget or let go of, what pulls or turns us...what it is that can "...steal,kill and destroy..." the abundant life from us and harden our hearts.
