"The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry."
~ Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms
~ Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms
"Our lives disconnect and reconnect, we move on, and later we may touch one another, again bounce away. This is the felt shape of a human life, neither simply linear nor wholly disjunctive nor endlessly bifurcating, but rather this bouncey sequence of bumping into's and tumblings apart."

The Journey: A Dream and A Reality...
Go to Europe…
To breathe, think, write, and wonder.
Watch the sun, rise and set.
Sit near an ocean, walk in the rolling hills,
Let the history in the streets rise to meet my senses.
Sip coffee in the cafĂ©’s,
Drink beer in the pubs,
Walk amongst the ancient ruins.
Make poetic memories,
Add words and lines to my story,
Be awake in each moment,
And sleep until I wake.
To breathe, think, write, and wonder.
Watch the sun, rise and set.
Sit near an ocean, walk in the rolling hills,
Let the history in the streets rise to meet my senses.
Sip coffee in the cafĂ©’s,
Drink beer in the pubs,
Walk amongst the ancient ruins.
Make poetic memories,
Add words and lines to my story,
Be awake in each moment,
And sleep until I wake.

The Journey....U2 - Walk On...
And love is not the easy thing
The only baggage you can bring...
And love is not the easy thing....
The only baggage you can bring
Is all that you can't leave behind
And if the darkness is to keep us apart
And if the daylight feels like it's a long way off
And if your glass heart should crack
And for a second you turn back
Oh no, be strong...
The only baggage you can bring...
And love is not the easy thing....
The only baggage you can bring
Is all that you can't leave behind
And if the darkness is to keep us apart
And if the daylight feels like it's a long way off
And if your glass heart should crack
And for a second you turn back
Oh no, be strong...
Home, hard to know what it is if you've never had one
Home, I can't say where it is but I know I'm going home
That's where the hurt is
I know it aches
How your heart it breaks
And you can only take so much
Walk on, walk on
Leave it behind
You've got to leave it behind...
The Journey...Leaving For London...
“I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!”

Jennifer Danielle Crumpton: Femmevangelical: A Modern Girl's Guide to Sharing the Good News
"...Jesus didn't bring a new religion, he brought a new reality. This reality is constantly asserting itself -- even in the face of opponents -- over the course of human history. Those who perceive it know it sets people free to become all God created us to be. Period. End of the Evangelical Story." ~ Jennifer Danielle Crumpton

My Take: There’s no such thing as the Bible and never has been – CNN Belief Blog - CNN.com Blogs
"Life is crazy uncertain, so it’s understandable that many of us want religion and especially the Bible to offer deliverance from it. But it doesn’t. It’s not a rock but a river, not a book of answers but a library of questions. When we take it seriously, and soberly, it calls us deeper into the wilderness – away from the sunny shoreline of the island and toward the uncharted interior." ~ Timothy Beal

The Journey...U2 - Kite...
"Something is about to give
I can feel it coming
I think I know what it is
I'm not afraid to die
I'm not afraid to live
And when I'm flat on my back
I hope to feel like I did..."
I can feel it coming
I think I know what it is
I'm not afraid to die
I'm not afraid to live
And when I'm flat on my back
I hope to feel like I did..."
"Did I waste it?
Not so much I couldn't taste it
Life should be fragrant
Roof top to the basement..."

The Journey...
On our journey through life there is not a destination but the spaces between the now and then and the here and there.
Two thoughts from two authors as the journey begins:
“There are betrayals in war that are childlike compared with our human betrayals during peace. The new lover enters the habits of the other. Things are smashed, revealed in a new light. This is done with nervous or tender sentences, although the heart is an organ of fire.
A love story is not about those who lose their heart but about those who, find that sullen inhabitant who, when it is stumbled upon, means the body can fool no one, can fool nothing – not the wisdom of sleep or the habit of social graces. It is a consuming of oneself and the past.”
~ Michael Ondaatje, The English Patient
“Five mysteries hold the keys to the unseen: the act of love, and the birth of a baby, and the contemplation of great art, and being in the presence of death and disaster and hearing the human voice lifted in song. These are the occasions when the bolts of the universe fly open and we are given a glimpse of what is hidden; an eff of the in effable.”
~ Salman Rushdie, The Ground Beneath Her Feet
The Journey...Where It All Started...
“What we call the beginning is often the end and to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from….we shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and to know the place for the first time.”~ T.S. Eliot
“Tell me, O muse, of that ingenious hero who travelled far and wide after he had sacked the famous town of Troy. Many cities did he visit, and many were the nations with whose manners and customs he was acquainted…” ~ Homer

Well...Hmmm...
"Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I've set you apart
Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh, let's go back to the start..."

I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I've set you apart
Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh, let's go back to the start..."
"Is a dream a lie if it don't come true?
Or is it something worse,
That sends me down to the river?"
~ Bruce Springsteen
Words Before Leaving...
Divine Milieu...Cat Stevens - Father and Son....
"....I know that it's not easy,
To be calm when you've found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you've got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not..."

Jeff Cook...Reimagining Heaven
Jeff Cook writes in a Relevant Magazine article, "But for those who experience God’s Spirit, the future is clear. We are being made more and more like Jesus who has given us His Spirit.
As such, when we choose mercy over indifference, when we choose action over apathy, when we choose self-restraint and chastity over a life given over to our many reckless desires, we choose to live now in the kingdom of heaven. When we feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, house the homeless and die to ourselves for the sake of another, we enjoy the life of the age to come. When we hear the voice of God telling us we are loved, that our many sins are forgiven, we experience now what we will experience forever. When we eat together, laugh together, sing together, serve together, take communion, love our enemies and cancel debts, we choose to live the best kind of life—the life of God’s future connected to Him and to one another."

LOST Lessons of Leadership: What ABC’s Hit Series Taught Me About Heroic Character | Two Handed Warriors
I had not watched any episodes of LOST until last night and I must say that I am now hooked! Amazing series thus far...
Why did I start watching? Well, a number of friends are writing about the series and some of my closest friends encouraged me to watch! So, I am.
