"The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry."
~ Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms

"Our lives disconnect and reconnect, we move on, and later we may touch one another, again bounce away. This is the felt shape of a human life, neither simply linear nor wholly disjunctive nor endlessly bifurcating, but rather this bouncey sequence of bumping into's and tumblings apart."
~ Salman Rushdie, The Ground Beneath Her Feet

Betrayal...

“One man betrayed with a kiss…In the name of love…” ~ Bono

Betrayal

A word
A turning away
A cold and slow withdrawal of life
A wound that leaves a scar
A recalcitrance to love what once was loved
A leaving behind
A lie

Betrayal

Alone

Lost
Empty

Doubt
Suspicion
Pain
Horror

Betrayal

A deception
A cloaking of reality
A game
A shedding of tears
A breaking of a heart
A death of something inside
A lamenting grieving for what once was

Betrayal

  1. I believe that brokeness of human relationships results from our brokeness with God, we are all separated from Christ until we are brought together at the cross. The fundamental need of the human heart is Spiritual, it can only begin with reconciliation to God. We all suffer betrayal with one another because of disunity with one another. We all have to be right with God to be right with people.
