"The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry."
~ Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms

"Our lives disconnect and reconnect, we move on, and later we may touch one another, again bounce away. This is the felt shape of a human life, neither simply linear nor wholly disjunctive nor endlessly bifurcating, but rather this bouncey sequence of bumping into's and tumblings apart."
~ Salman Rushdie, The Ground Beneath Her Feet

Addiction Part II...

“A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope."
~ Matthew12:20-21

"In order to be free and faithful to this sacred man (Jesus) and his dream, to others and ourselves, we must be liberated from the damnable imprisonment of self-hatred and freed from the shackles of projectionism, perfectionism, moralism/legalism, and unhealthy guilt. Freedom for fidelity demands freedom from enslavement."
~ Brennan Manning

  1. "We must come to a place where freedom means boldness to follow God, with no fear of displeasing Him.
The Christian life is not the result of our capacity to imitate God, but His capacity to reproduce Himself in us.
A life is bettered lived when we let God do what is needed to soften our hearts & to carve away the influences that would rob our souls of joy. We have to allow light into our own souls first.
