"The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry."
~ Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms

"Our lives disconnect and reconnect, we move on, and later we may touch one another, again bounce away. This is the felt shape of a human life, neither simply linear nor wholly disjunctive nor endlessly bifurcating, but rather this bouncey sequence of bumping into's and tumblings apart."
~ Salman Rushdie, The Ground Beneath Her Feet

Beauty and Truth....

"When old age shall this generation waste,
Thou shalt remain, in midst of other woe
Than ours, a friend to man, to whom thou say'st,
'Beauty is truth, truth beauty'---that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
~ John Keats, Ode To A Grecian Urn

Beauty and Truth
If the two exist outside my perception
I don’t know…
But both are sitting across from me in this café
They caught my eye and captured my imagination
Round outline of a breast
Softness of skin
Hiding beauty under a “resplendent chemise”
Folded fabric over crossed legs

Concealing the truth
Whether outside or within my perception
Is of no consequence
For in either realm
Unattainable to me are...
Beauty and Truth

  1. Moving on....

The season of mourning is long
    it is necessary & understandable.
    Counter-productive
    hard work
    dwelling on what is lost.
    Consciously moving away
    leaving self-centered thoughts.
    Time.....
    to culivate a servant's heart.
