"Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are shaking with terror. My soul is also struck with terror ... O Lord -- how long?"
- Psalm 6:2-3
"The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry."

"Our lives disconnect and reconnect, we move on, and later we may touch one another, again bounce away. This is the felt shape of a human life, neither simply linear nor wholly disjunctive nor endlessly bifurcating, but rather this bouncey sequence of bumping into's and tumblings apart."
~ Salman Rushdie, The Ground Beneath Her Feet
When David was in the midst of what was the worst time in his life, he encouraged himself in the Lord his God; and the result was a magnificent victory, in which all that had been lost was more than restored back. This is always the result of courageous faith, because faith lays hold of the omnipotence of God.
ReplyDeleteThe best way to entrap a Christian is to discourage his soul, discouragement does not
have its source in God..Jesus teaches us about
faith, good cheer, courage, and hope. "Be of
good cheer" says Christ, for I have overcome the
world. The Lord fights our battles for us,
we can only be strong in Him, when we are
weak in ourselves, our weakness therefore is
in reality our greatest strength.
Do not exalt "they" in the place of God, and
don't esteem "their" opinions above His promises.
David over & over again asks this question of himself, " why are you cast down, O my soul and why are you disquieted within me? And each time he answers himself with the argument of God.
" I hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him,who is the health of my countenance, he turns at
once to the Lord and by faith begins to praise Him. Nothing can separate you from God's love.
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but He has given us His Spirit of love, power, and a sound mind. He is waiting to bless you as you move forward towards Him.
